Ministry Opportunities

There are many opportunities at Rock Prairie Baptist Church to serve God, our Church and our community. We strongly encourage members to volunteer for and be active in any position that fits their talents and gifts. Positions are filled once a year prior to September 1st.

 

All who serve as officers, hold positions, or serve on church committees must be active members of the church. The following is a list of positions and committees that are active in the church.

Committees

Unless otherwise indicated, each committee elects a chairperson after the committee is formed and annually during the volunteer approval process.

Budget & Finance

Responsible for general financial plans and recommendations concerning fiscal matters, plans annual church budget and monitors financial operations. The Church Treasurer is the Chairperson of this committee.

Building & Grounds

Responsible for all matters pertaining to buildings, grounds, furnishings and equipment of the church, including arranging for repairs and grounds maintenance in a timely manner and organizing Church work days as required.

Fellowship

Supports the church's fellowship functions, including meals, ensuring all planning, operation, and clean-up activities are executed in an organized manner.

Flowers

Provides flower arrangements or other decorations that will enhance weekly congregational worship and special services; provision of flowers or plant for memorial service of church members or their family.

Missions

Research possible new mission opportunities and provide status to the congregation of current missions.

Media

Manages website, email, and social media content.

Youth

Facilitates spiritual growth of youth through events that foster a spiritual and fun environment.

Other Opportunities

There are opportunities to serve outside of the official volunteer process.

Choir

The choir provides special music as part of the song service which typically includes more contemporary music accompanied by CD.

The choir usually meets Sunday evenings at 5:00pm for practice.

Christmas Program

There are several roles required for the Christmas program each year; director, singers, actors, set designer, audio support, etc.
